We've noticed in Charlotte, NC the latest trend in appliances is stainless steel. With so many people buying these appliances, their unique cleaning needs have become apparent. To clean stainless steel appliances it requires a little more time and effort than regular appliances. Little things such as fingerprints, grease and smudges are much more visible on stainless steel than on colored appliances. So, I'll share some  cleaning tips with you ...but I can't tell you ALL our secrets;



- Polishing Stainless Steel

Make Ready Matt 's services has found an easy and inexpensive way to polish or remove streaks from a stainless steel appliance is to use a small amount of baby oil, mineral oil or olive oil on a paper towel and wipe the surface. You could also use club soda, rubbing alcohol or white vinegar that is applied to a lint-free cloth. This brings out the natural shine that stainless steel has.

Tips:

  • Never use an abrasive cleaner or abrasive cleaning tool on stainless steel.
  • Always wipe the stainless steel appliance with the grain to lessen the effect of streaking.
  • Never use bleach on stainless steel appliances.
  • Whenever using a new cleaning solution whether it is commercial or homemade, you should test it on a small inconspicuous spot first.
